How it all Began…
I worked in a bank, starting as a teller I had high aspirations of working my way up. I worked every day, ready to do whatever was asked of me, in order to become a successful banker. My hard work and determination paid off and I was quickly promoted to loan officer. I thought I was on the right path to financial stability and lifelong happiness. After a while I began to realize that something didn't feel quite right. I wasn't happy. Brushing my concerns aside I persisted and continued to work hard assuming it would all pay off in the end.
One Year Later…
My entire day consisted of meetings, sitting at a desk, lunch, back to the desk in silence, and home. Once I would arrive home I found myself to tired and depressed to do anything that resembled fun, therefore, I would end up just going to bed in hopes tomorrow would be better. I was stuck on repeat and couldn't find the off switch. I started questioning everything. Why am I spending my time doing something I hate? Am I going to spend my life in this one building like some kind of corporate prisoner? Why do I have to constantly live in fear that my boss will punish me for not doing everything correctly?
The Journey…
The days dragged on and I began to feel hopeless. I feared there was no light at the end of the tunnel. I would sit at my desk watching Joogsquad videos on Youtube witnessing them enjoying their lives and jobs, and would wonder why can’t I? That’s when I decided to start an Instagram page and post photos and videos that I took with my GoPro. I began to realize I wasn’t living my best life and that’s when I decided to find a reason to Live More. That’s when it all began.
My Advice…
Everyone needs an escape from everyday life. Something that makes you smile, something you enjoy doing. Simply start with one hour a day. Allowing yourself something to look forward too can pull you out of any rut you might fall into. What started as a hobby and something to make myself feel better is now something so much bigger with more meaning that I could have ever imagined. I choose to quit my job as a loan officer and Live More by pursuing my passions wherever they take me. It’s incredible what impact something can have on other people when you have real passion for it. The Live More movement was originally intended to help me be happier and now it’s affecting so many others in such a positive way. If you are stuck in a routine, then do what you love, take it one day at a time, and #LiveMore.
