Lately I’ve noticed a severe lack of self-discipline in the world. My father was in the military and I can’t remember a time where I wasn’t being taught discipline. In everything he would do he would stress the importance of self-discipline to me. I never took it too seriously because I never fully comprehended the level of importance it holds.
Lesson's Learned...
Now, years down the road, I decided to learn Tae Kwon Do. While we were serious about wanting to learn we still goofed off and played around during the classes. I soon began to realize that everyone around us was progressively getting better while we were still at the same level we had started at. I decided to make a positive change and implement the self-discipline techniques that my father had taught me so many years ago. My rhythm consisted of class, home, and practice and soon I began to rapidly improve. The progress I was making began to motivate me even more and showed me how effective self-discipline truly is.
Impact...
I make a solid attempt to implement self-discipline into my everyday life. For example, when I don’t want to work, exercise, or eat healthy? Self-discipline. It’s a tool that I believe once you harness allows the world to become your oyster. I have found this to be the key to success and happiness in my life, no one is going to do things for you or hand you opportunities, you have to be disciplined enough to pursue those goals even when they seem impossible. Like me Self-discipline can teach you how to truly Live More!
